Hon. Justice James Ogoola is the New Chairperson of the Commission. The commission body was sworn in on Thursday 2nd February 2011. these were sworn in at the High Court in Kampala by the chief Justice, Benjamin Odoki.
The commission is comprised of the following:
- Hon Justice James Munange Ogoola- Chairperson.
- Hon lady Justice Dr. Esther M Kisaakye- Deputy Chairperson.
- Hon Peter Nyombi- Attorney General (Ex- Officio).
- Hon Justice Bart Katureebe- Member.
- Prof Fredrick E. Sempebwa- Member.
- Dr. Laban Nnini Kirya- Member.
- Mrs. Grace Oburu- Member.
- Mr. Charles Okoth Owor- Member.

The Judicial Service Commission (the Commission) is an independent agency of the state established under the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. It is a specialized appointing Commission enjoying broad oversight functions in relation to services delivered to the people by the Judiciary. The mandate and functions of the Commission are defined under Articles 146-151 of the Constitution.
