Swearing-in of new Member of the Judicial Service Commission

The Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo on 30th September 2021 swore in Mr. Jimmy Okello as a Member of the JSC representing the public. He urged the newly sworn in member to be firm and speak with authority without hiding saying he and the rest of the members were appointed to ensure that the rule of law prevails in Uganda.

The Chief Justice noted that there is no highest or lowest person in this Country that we all own; therefore all they need to do is familiarise themselves with the Constitution because not everyone need to be Lawyers to perform their duties.

To Jimmy Okello the newly sworn in Member of the Judicial Service Commission; the Chief Justice tasked him and his Team to ensure that each District and Constituency in Uganda has a Magistrate saying it's painful and shameful for people to walk kilometres in search of a Temple of Justice yet Justice is as important as a Health Center.
