Our vision names the judicial service we are working toward. Our mission describes the means — four disciplines through which the Commission discharges its constitutional mandate.

Our Mission

To advance excellence in the Judiciary through merit-based recruitment, impartial disciplinary control, review and recommendation of terms and conditions of service, judicial and public legal education, and advice to Government on the administration of justice.

Integrity

The JSC shall uphold the highest standards of honesty, ethical conduct, and moral uprightness in all its operations.

Impartiality

The JSC shall carry out its mandate fairly, without bias or favouritism, and treat all persons equally before the law.

Transparency

The JSC’s processes and decisions shall be open, clear, and understandable to all stakeholders to build trust and confidence.

Accountability

The JSC shall be answerable to the public and all stakeholders for its actions, inactions, and use of resources.

Independence

The JSC shall discharge its duties autonomously, free from external influence, directive, or control by any person or authority, in line with the Constitution.

Innovation

The JSC shall embrace creativity, modern technology, and new approaches to improving service delivery and responding to emerging challenges.

Strategic Objectives
Over the next five years, in fulfilment of its mandate, the JSC seeks to achieve the following objectives, all of which emanate from that same mandate
To enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the recruitment of judicial officers.
To strengthen efficiency and effectiveness of the disciplinary and complaints handling processes.
To strengthen judicial and public legal education.
To strengthen its administrative, legal, institutional and coordination capacity.
