I am delighted to present to you the Judicial Service Commission Annual Report for the Financial Year 2021/2022.The report covers the accomplishments registered and the challenges encountered in the execution of our mandate as prescribed under chapter 8 of the Constitution. The operationalization of new Magistrates’ Courts and expansion of the staff structure of the Judiciary led to an increase in number of vacancies declared by the Judiciary in FY 2021/22. This necessitated concerted efforts by the Commission to meet the needs of the Judiciary. The Commission filled 279 judicial positions at both upper and lower bench that ensured smooth flow of Judicial Services. In regard to the disciplinary function, the Commission handled 122 cases and handed down sanctions on a number of Judicial Officers, adjudged to have erred in the discharge of their judicial functions. The Commission continued to conduct public legal education on law and the Administration of Justice throughout the Country covering key issues affected by the population.
